Conference: Mid-Eastern Athletic
40 Time: 4.50
Biography: Penn State transfer awarded All-Conference honors last season after eight after posting a team leading 51/958/13.
Positives: Big, strong possession receiver with an explosive game. Uses his hands and strength to get separation from opponents, goes over the middle and makes the difficult catch in a crowd. Uses his frame to shield away opponents and protect the pass, gets vertical and pulls the ball from the air. Makes the tough catch with defenders draped on him, resilient and gives effort running after the reception. Tracks the deep ball and nicely makes the reception downfield. Effective when he extends his hands and makes the reception away from his frame. Fights to come away with the ball in a battle. Gives a lot of effort blocking and gets results.
Negatives: Lacks the quick release off the line and not a sharp route runner. One speed receiver who cannot stretch the field. Unnecessarily lets the pass get inside him at times and loses focus.
Analysis: After seeing minimal playing time at Penn State, Bell really watched his game take off last season. He plays a fearless brand of football and really attacks all his assignments as a pass catcher or blocker. Still raw with his technique, Bell offers a lot of upside potential and could develop into a fourth receiver for an NFL franchise while being a special teams ace on coverage units.
