Greg Middleton
Biography: Three-year starter awarded All-Conference honors after his sophomore season. Totals last year included 38/8.5/3 after junior
numbers of 18/5/5. Sophomore totals included career numbers of 50/17/16.
Positives: Productive college pass rusher who's watched his game decline the past two seasons. Breaks down well, covers a lot of area on the field, and rarely off his feet. Fluid moving laterally, displays the ability to drop off the line of scrimmage and athletic on the field. Displays an array of moves working to get off blocks, plays with good pad level, and plays with a large degree of quickness. Fast off the edge, keeps his feet moving, and flashes power. Negatives: Easily handled at the point of attack by a single blocker and gets engulfed by opponents. Lacks bulk on the inside. Benched during his junior season because of poor play. Analysis: After a sensational sophomore campaign in ?07, Middleton was a highly rated prospect and one of the best pass rushers in college football. He's been unable to improve since then and has watched his game tail off. Middleton possesses enough skill to be used as a backup defensive end in a four-man line yet must be consistently productive on the field this summer. Projection: 4-5 ![]() AJ Mast/Icon SMI
