PLAYERS
Biography: Three-year starter awarded All-Conference honors as a junior. Also awarded the 2009 Rimmington Trophy, given to the nation's
top center.
Positives: Explosive and athletic center who is a great combination of size, strength, and finesse. Blocks with terrific fundamentals, gets leverage on opponents and easily turns defenders off the line, opening holes for the running game. Keeps his feet moving throughout the action, stays square, and easily anchors in pass protection. Displays good blocking vision, keeps his head on a swivel, and plays with a large degree of awareness. Effectively picks up stunts or blitzes, adjusts to opponents, and knocks them from the action with good hand punch. Gets out to the second level, redirects to linebackers, and easily takes out moving targets. Plays with a nasty attitude and works to annihilate the opponent. Negatives: Not a true drive blocking lineman and struggles to finish. Analysis: Pouncey is the best center prospect in this draft and an offensive lineman who can play any of the three interior blocking positions. He offers a great amount of upside and has immediate starting potential at the next level. Projection: 1st ![]() Bill Frakes/SI
