Biography: All-Conference selection as a junior when he became a full-time starter and then posted career numbers 74/3/6. Started six games as a sophomore and finished the year with 50/1/6.

Positives: Large, forceful safety with an incomplete game. Effective facing the action, has a burst to the ball, and physically beats down opponents. Delivers crunching blows to ball-carriers, and is a strong open-field tackler. Effective facing the action and displays good hands for the interception. Possesses a quick burst of closing speed.

Negatives: Takes incorrect angles to the action. Marginally instinctive. Does not show great sideline-to-sideline range, and late getting to the flanks.

Analysis: Jones has the physical skills to play at the next level, but he lacks the range to be a true centerfielder. A move to outside linebacker is not out of the question, but Jones needs a lot of work on his overall game. His decision to leave for the NFL was a bit premature, yet his size will entice a number of NFL teams.
