Biography: Part-time starter at the past two seasons. Played in four games as a senior, posting 74/330/4 on the ground. Suffered a knee injury late in September that ended his season. Junior totals included 146/707/12.
Positives: Aggressive, interior runner who displays strength carrying the ball. Powerful, easily adjusts off the initial hit to pick up extra yardage and breaks tackles. Displays good vision, patiently waits for blocks to develop and possesses good footwork in a small area. Keeps his feet moving on contact, helps out as a blocker, and can slide out to pick up the blitz. Plays with a nice degree of quickness.
Negatives: Shows a limited burst in his game. Has suffered season-ending injuries two of the past three seasons and never truly established himself as a featured back.
Analysis: Asiata has terrific size/speed numbers, which he couples with solid running skills. Durability is a major issue and will raise red flags moving toward the draft. Asiata is trying to regain in his sixth year of eligibility on the college field, which would be his best route.
