Will Tukuafu
Biography: Three-year starter awarded varying degrees All-Conference honors since his sophomore season. Senior totals included 36/6.5/2.5
after 59/17.5/7.5 the prior season. Originally signed with BYU in 2002 before embarking on a two-year church mission and 26
years of age.
Positives: Fluid, college pass rusher coming off a disappointing season. Plays with good lean, balance, and quickly changes direction or alters his angle of attack. Displays a large degree of quickness in his game, makes plays in every direction of the field, and rarely off his feet. Effective in space and covers a large degree area. Works his hands to get off blocks. Forceful up the field. Negatives: Handled at the point by a single blocker and can be a liability in run defense. Lacks top and speed. Analysis: Tukuafu showed signs of being a terrific prospect during his junior season, yet he was never able to capitalize last year. He possesses poor size/speed numbers and limited upside. May have a place as a nickel pass rusher who is stood up over tackle or lined up in a three-point stance. Projection: FA |
