Conference: Non-Division I
40 Time: 5.29
Biography: Two-year starter awarded All-Conference honors since his junior campaign. Played left tackle as a senior after manning the right guard spot the prior year.
Positives: Patient position blocker who plays with good fundamentals. Bends his knees, stays square, and quickly gets his hands into defenders. Makes good use of blocking angles, body positioning to seal defenders from the action. Jolts defenders with good punch and effective in pass protection. Keeps his head on a swivel, works well with teammates, and nicely picks up stunts or twists.
Negatives: Struggles in motion and not effective hitting a moving target. Lacks top footwork sliding out to protect the edge. Must improve his overall body strength.
Analysis: McDonald is a fundamentally sound blocker best in a smaller area. He's a finesse lineman who could eventually develop into a backup for a zone-blocking system.
