CFL Recap (Hamilton-Montreal) Posted: Thur July 23, 1998 at 11:31 p.m. EDT HAMILTON 23, MONTREAL 21Paul Osbaldiston booted five field goals and added a single as the Hamilton Tiger-Cats handed the Montreal Alouettes their first loss of the season, 23-21. Danny McManus' lone touchdown pass, a 10-yard strike to Mike Morreale, gave Hamilton (3-1) a 20-14 lead with 2:35 to play in the third quarter. Osbaldiston kicked field goals of 36, 31 and 12 yards and added a 75-yard single as Hamilton took a 10-0 lead early in the second quarter. After Tracy Ham hit former Tiger-Cat Maclin Cody with an 11-yard scoring pass, Osbaldiston drilled a 51-yard field goal to give Hamilton a 13-7 lead at halftime. Osbaldiston also kicked a 39-yard field goal for Hamilton, which posted its second straight road win. The victory also moved the Ti-Cats into a first-place tie with Montreal (3-1) in the Eastern Division.
