Backup Dave Dickenson threw four touchdown passes and ran for another score as the Calgary Stampeders posted a 44-25 victory over the winless Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Dickenson started in place of Jeff Garcia, who was nursing a knee injury, and responded by completing 28-of-39 passes for 432 yards. His four-yard scoring pass to Vince Danielsen helped Calagry (3-1) take a 7-5 lead in the first quarter. Dickenson added scoring strikes of 21 yards to Terry Vaughn and 15 yards to Travis Moore as the Stamps opened a 21-12 lead at halftime. Eric Blount scored on a 96-yard kickoff return to start the second half, drawing Winnipeg within 21-19. But after Mark McLoughlin's 27-yard field goal, Dickenson tossed a two-yard scoring pass to Allen Pitts and an 89-yard bomb to Moore before running in from eight yards out with 2:35 to play. Moore caught three passes for 116 yards and Danielsen added seven catches for 82 yards. Ted Long caught a pair of short touchdown passes for the Blue Bombers (0-4).
