CFL Recap (Winnipeg-Bc) Posted: Fri July 30, 1999 at 2:41 a.m EDT WINNIPEG 30, BC 18VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker) -- Kerwin Bell capped a big first half with a 99-yard touchdown pass to Milt Stegall, leading the Winnipeg Blue Bombers to a 30-18 victory over the previously unbeaten B.C. Lions. Bell's scoring strike to Stegall 24 seconds before intermission highlighted the first half for the Blue Bombers (2-2), who opened a 20-4 advantage. B.C. (3-1), which lost for the first time in four games, actually took a 1-0 lead with 12:38 left in the first quarter on Lui Passaglia's 36-yard single off a missed field goal. But Deland McCullough ran one yard for a touchdown and Troy Westwood kicked a 31-yard field goal with 28 seconds to play in the period, giving Winnipeg a 10-1 lead. Westwood's second field goal from 14 yards early in the second quarter pushed the lead to 13-1 before Passaglia kicked a 36-yard field goal with 4:20 left in the half. Westwood booted field goals of 34 and 23 yards in the third quarter to open a 22-point advantage. Damon Allen hit Lloyd Henry with a 34-yard TD pass and Robert Drummond ran one yard for a score in the fourth quarter for the Lions. © 2000 Sportsticker Enterprises, LP
