Record: 8-3, 5-3 ACC
Coach: George O'Leary, fifth year (36-24)
Top Off. Player: QB Joe Hamilton (177.25 efficiency, 3,060 yards, 29 TDs)
Top Def. Player: S Travares Tillman (59 tackles -- eight games)
Season Summary:
Tech's mantra is fairly simple: outscore the other team. That's what Hamilton was able to do for the most part, falling just short against Florida State, Virginia and Wake Forest. His receivers are the best group in the country, with Dez White, Kelly Campbell and Kerry Watkins, and Sean Gregory has been a pleasant surprise at tailback.

Season Summary:
The Hurricanes' monster schedule brought losses to Florida State, Penn State and East Carolina, as well as injuries to some key players, including QB Kenny Kelly. Ken Dorsey has led the offense since Kelly's injury Nov. 13 against Virginia Tech. He has help from RBs James Jackson and Clinton Portis. The linebacking corps is also a strength.
