The Plot

The Road to BCS Payday Athens, Ohio, will be the site of a science experiment this fall. It's called "How does a team recover from losing the school's top two all-time leading rushers in the same season?" With the departure of Kareem Wilson and Steve Hookfin, centerpieces of that daunting Bobcats option attack, Jim Grobe's offense will go slightly more conventional. But it will likely take all year for the young troops to adjust.

The Director

Jim Grobe, fifth season (21-23-1)

Ensemble cast

QB Dan Jordan -- Hopes run high that this sophomore can show the Bobcats what a pass is.
T Steve Gaydosz -- Two-year starter keys Grobe's funky formations.
OLB Leigh Barbour -- Effective pass rusher and team's top tackler.
HB Raynald Ray -- Lost in the mix until now, the junior should emerge as viable rushing/receiving threat.

And introducing

TB Chad Brinker -- Redshirt frosh will be pressed into immediate action in OU's run-heavy offense.

Why it will work

If Bobcats transition effortlessly to Jordan's ways.

Why it won't

Team lost too much at once of what OU was all about the last three seasons.
