Halfback Pete Dawkins, who won the Heisman Trophy after leading Army to an 8-0-1 record in 1958, appeared with the rest of the vaunted Army backfield on our Nov. 24 cover. We previewed the classic Army-Navy confrontation thusly: "This is the way more than 600 pounds of muscle and determination will look while traveling at some 25 mph or more into the Navy line."
