Our Nov. 22, 1971, cover pitted No. 1 Nebraska (10-0) against No. 2 Oklahoma (9-0) in "another of college football's gigantic, colossal, breathtaking, polldown Battle of Giants." The Cornhuskers rallied for a 35-31 win and went on to win the national championship.
