A boastful David Boston and the Buckeyes were upended by Marcus Ray and the Wolverines on our Dec. 1, 1997, cover, as No. 1 Michigan flattened archrival Ohio State. With the win, Michigan ran its record to 11-0 and took a consensus No. 1 ranking to the Rose Bowl.
