Sports Illustrated college football writer Ivan Maisel breaks down the key matchup for each of the four Bowl Championship Series games.

Miami defensive tackles Damione Lewis and William Joseph vs. Florida guards Thomas Moody and Leon Hires

Lewis is a star. The All-Big East senior may not quite measure up to the standards of great Hurricanes linemen such as Russell Maryland and Warren Sapp, but he is still plenty to handle. Joseph is an up-and-comer who moved inside earlier this year. One reason Miami middle linebacker Dan Morgan won the Lombardi Award and everything else short of a Golden Globe is that Lewis and Joseph kept the offensive linemen off of him.

Moody and Hires, meanwhile, are lunch-pail guys who have been around and know how to lock up a lineman. Hires more than held his own against Georgia defensive tackle Marcus Stroud, who will be a high NFL draft choice come April.

It's imperative for the Gators to keep the rush off of quarterbacks Rex Grossman and Jesse Palmer. Given the trouble the two have had making decisions, they'll need all the time they can get.
