Sept. 2: DeShaun Foster, UCLA

The running back went every which way (187 yards) against an Alabama defense that last year tracked down anyone and everything. In the process, he helped the Bruins attain respectability once again following last year's 4-7 disaster.

Sept. 9: Michael Bennett, Wisconsin

Wisconsin's Michael Bennett -- before now known primarily as Ron Dayne's replacement - did something not seen since the Great Dayne's freshman year. His 291-yard, two-touchdown day almost single-handedly carried the otherwise lackluster Badgers past a tough Oregon team.

Sept. 16: LaDainian Tomlinson, TCU

LaDainian Tomlinson said it himself. "I could have had 350," the running back said after finishing with 243 yards against Northwestern on national television, and he was right. Tomlinson, who scored two touchdowns, had two scoring runs worth 109 yards called back on penalties by teammates.

Sept. 23: Woodrow Dantzler, Clemson

How do you describe Woodrow Dantzler to someone who's never seen him play? How about Michael Vick, with better numbers. The Clemson quarterback completed 15 of 24 passes for 154 yards but also carried 18 times for 220 yards, including touchdown runs of 75 and 45 yards.

Sept. 30: Rohan Davey, LSU

Rohan Davey could barely walk when he limped onto the field for overtime Saturday night against Tennessee to throw the deciding touchdown, his fourth. Davey completed 23 of 35 passes for 318 yards and likely unseated Josh Booty for good as LSU's quarterback.

Oct. 7: Damien Anderson, Northwestern

The junior became the first player in school history to notch consecutive 200-yard games, this time with a whopping 292 yards and four TDs on 36 carries in the Wildcats' 52-33 defeat of Indiana. Anderson becomes the nation's first 1,000-yard rusher this season (1,050 yards, 7.4 ypc).

Oct. 14: Josh Heupel, Oklahoma

Heupel led his second straight landmark win for the Sooners, 41-31 at No. 2 Kansas State, using his pinpoint accuracy to complete 29-of-37 with his pinpoint accuracy for 374 yards and two touchdowns.

Oct. 21: Antwaan Randle El, Indiana

He won this award once last year as well, and never ceases to amaze with his athletic ability. The junior quarterback ran for 210 yards and two TDs, while throwing for 263 and two more scores in the Hoosiers' 51-43 upset of No. 22 Minnesota.

Oct. 28: Kelly Campbell, Georgia Tech

The Yellow Jackets sophomore had his biggest game to date on Saturday against Clemson. His 14 catches for 209 yards and a touchdown helped Georgia Tech shock the fifth-ranked Tigers 31-28.

Nov. 4: Chris Weinke, Florida State

But by any measure, Weinke was the most dominant player in football on Saturday, throwing for 521 yards against a Clemson team that just two weeks ago was undefeated and ranked in the top five. Weinke made 100-yard receivers out of three different players during his 27-of-43 day.
