CNNSI.com's Stewart Mandel forecasts the 28 bowl games.

All times EST

Tue., 7 p.m. | ESPN2
at New Orleans
New Orleans Bowl
Cincinnati (7-6) vs. North Texas (7-5)

Word is after beating East Carolina on Dec. 6 to finally get bowl eligible, the Bearcats showered, took a couple finals then caught a flight to the Big Easy.
Cincinnati 19, North Texas 14

Wed., 8 p.m. | ESPN2
at Mobile, Ala.
GMAC Bowl
Louisville (7-5) vs. Marshall (10-2)

It's America's favorite new guessing game: Which Louisville Team Will Show Up? The version that knocked off Florida State? Or the later edition that managed to lose 27-10 to Houston?
Marshall 38, Louisville 27

Dec. 23, 5:30 p.m. | ESPN
at Orlando
Tangerine Bowl
Clemson (7-5) vs. Texas Tech (8-5)

Texas Tech's goofy offense will have ultra-prolific QB Kliff Kingsbury throwing passes all the way to Pluto and leave Clemson coach Tommy Bowden wanting to throw down a few Mickey's.
Texas Tech 35, Clemson 27

Dec. 25, 4:30 p.m. | ESPN
at Las Vegas
Las Vegas Bowl
UCLA (7-5) vs. New Mexico (7-6)

While in town, Bruins AD Dan Guerrero plans to interview a few possible head coaches: Wayne Newton, Carrot Top, Siegfried, Roy and Real World bad girls Brynne and Trishelle.
UCLA 34, New Mexico 17

Dec. 25, 8 p.m. | ESPN
at Honolulu
Hawaii Bowl
Tulane (7-5) vs. Hawaii (10-3)

Call this the Comedy Central Bowl. It's laughable, but a Green Wave team that lost to Army gets to go to Hawaii. Yea! They'll feel the wrath of Warriors QB Timmy Chang.
Hawaii 27, Tulane 10

Dec. 26, 5 p.m. | ESPN
at Detroit
Motor City Bowl
Boston College (8-4) vs. Toledo (9-3)

Remember when Boston College beat Notre Dame 14-0? Remember how stunning it was? Now we know why it was such a big upset. The Irish got beat by a Motor City Bowl team.
Boston College 27, Toledo 21

Dec. 26, 8 p.m. | ESPN
at Phoenix
Insight Bowl
No. 24 Pittsburgh (8-4) vs. Oregon State (8-4)

It's the first time in five years this Arizona bowl has hosted a West Coast team. That's kind of like the Rose Bowl going three years without a Big Ten team, only not at all.
Oregon State 24, Pittsburgh 21

Dec. 27, 1 p.m. | ESPN
Houston Bowl
Oklahoma State (7-5) vs. Southern Miss (7-5)

That swishing sound you just heard was Oklahoma State receiver Rashaun Woods streaking by Oklahoma's secondary for yet another touchdown. USM's best hope is Woods turns pro and skips the bowl game.
Oklahoma State 23, Southern Miss 16

Dec. 27, 4:30 p.m. | ESPN
at Shreveport, La.
Independence Bowl
Nebraska (7-6) vs. Ole Miss (6-6)

Some say six-loss teams shouldn't go to bowl games. But anyone who's ever been to Shreveport would tell you what these two are about to go through couldn't be a more appropriate reward.
Nebraska 36, Ole Miss 24

Dec. 27, 8 p.m. | ESPN
at San Diego
Holiday Bowl
Arizona State (8-5) vs. No. 6 Kansas State (10-2)

The season has come full circle for the Sun Devils. Four months after their season-opening whupping by former Big 12 North power Nebraska they'll end it with a whupping by current Big 12 North power K-State.
Kansas State 38, Arizona State 13

Dec. 28, 11 a.m. | ESPN2
at Charlotte, N.C.
Continental Tire Bowl
No. 15 West Virginia (9-3) vs. Virginia (8-5)

Welcome to the all-slighted bowl, with two coaches who feel they should be playing on New Year's Day instead battling Saturday morning cartoons for ratings. Winner gets a free set of spares.
West Virginia 27, Virginia 20

Dec. 28, 8 p.m. | ESPN
at San Antonio
Alamo Bowl
No. 14 Colorado (9-4) vs. Wisconsin (7-6)

It's all about conference pride, baby. Big Ten No. 4 vs. Big 12 No. 4 -- or so the contract says. Somehow, the Big 12's No. 4 team went 7-1 in its conference, the Big Ten's 2-6.
Colorado 27, Wisconsin 14

Dec. 30, 2 p.m. | ESPN
at Nashville
Music City Bowl
Minnesota (7-5) vs. No. 25 Arkansas (9-4)

Not only is the game taking place in Nashville, but you'd never know one of the participants isn't Vanderbilt. One lost its last game 30-3, and the other has dropped four in a row by a combined score of 169-79.
Arkansas 23, Minnesota 13

Dec. 30, 5:30 p.m. | ESPN
at Seattle
Seattle Bowl
Oregon (7-5) vs. Wake Forest (7-6)

Nice reward for Oregon, which gets to spend a week in the backyard of hated rival Washington. If not for the Huskies being in El Paso, I'm sure they'd invite the Ducks over for tea and crumpets.
Oregon 34, Wake Forest 15

Dec. 31, Noon | ESPN
at Boise, Idaho
Humanitarian Bowl
Iowa State (7-6) vs. No. 18 Boise State (11-1)

A brutal late-season collapse left Seneca Wallace's Heisman campaign deader than the birds that nose-dive into Boise's blue turf. He is, however, the best player the Broncos will face all season.
Iowa State 38, Boise State 29

Dec. 31, 2 p.m. | CBS
at El Paso, Texas
Sun Bowl
Purdue (6-6) vs. Washington (7-5)

Ah, a little Rose Bowl rematch. Drew Brees and Marques Tuiasosopo are long gone, but the torch has been passed to UW's Cody Pickett and Purdue's Brandon Han ... er, Brandon Kir ... make that Kyle Orton.
Washington 26, Purdue 22

Dec. 31, 3:30 p.m. | ESPN2
at San Jose, Calif.
Silicon Valley Classic
Georgia Tech (7-5) vs. Fresno State (8-5)

Why would the Yellow Jackets make this trek all the way out to Silicon Valley? Hey, where do you think all those engineering majors wind up? Hopefully, they can still afford tickets after all their layoffs.
Georgia Tech 25, Fresno State 18

Dec. 31, 3:30 p.m. | ESPN
at Memphis, Tenn.
Liberty Bowl
No. 22 Colorado State (10-3) vs. TCU (9-2)

Colorado State's Bradlee Van Pelt and Cecil Sapp are the Mountain West's version of Dorsey-McGahee. You know you're loaded when one guy runs for 1,500 yards and 17 TDs and the other wins league MVP.
Colorado State 26, TCU 16

Dec. 31, 7:30 p.m. | ESPN
at Atlanta
Peach Bowl
No. 20 Maryland (10-3) vs. Tennessee (8-4)

Over a 15-year span, the Peach Bowl has been decided by an average 4.8 points, and this one looks just as even. The formula: Match an overachieving ACC team with an underachiever from the SEC.
Tennessee 23, Maryland 19

Dec. 31, 10:30 p.m. | ESPN
at San Francisco
San Francisco Bowl
Air Force (8-4) vs. No. 21 Virginia Tech (9-4)

How shall we measure the disparity? Let us count the ways. The Hokies beat LSU, Marshall and Texas A&M and gave top-ranked Miami fits. The Falcons lost to Wyoming. God help us.
Virginia Tech 27, Air Force 12

Jan. 1, 11 a.m. | FOX
at Dallas
Cotton Bowl
LSU (8-4) vs. No. 9 Texas (10-2)

Amazing how one stadium can be both a House of Horrors and a holiday treat for the same team. Sorry you guys got beat by Oklahoma again, but feel free to come back for New Year's.
Texas 29, LSU 17

Jan. 1, 11 a.m. | ESPN
at Tampa
Outback Bowl
No. 12 Michigan (9-3) vs. No. 22 Florida (8-4)

Ah, what could have been. Wuerffel drops back to pass, finds a streaking Jacquez Green ... picked off by Charles Woodson! Now Griese and A-Train line up in the backfield. Jevon Kearse comes off a blitz ...
Florida 24, Michigan 20

Jan. 1, 12:30 p.m. | NBC
at Jacksonville
Gator Bowl
No. 11 Notre Dame (10-2) vs. No. 17 N.C. State (10-3)
Now here are some coaches' luncheons I'd pay to attend. Chuck Amato, on one side of the dais, rolling off one-liners, Tyrone Willingham dissecting and analyzing them on the other.
Notre Dame 20, N.C. State 12

Jan. 1, 1 p.m. | ABC
at Orlando
Capital One Bowl
No. 19 Auburn (8-4) vs. No. 10 Penn State (9-3)

All right, LJ, show us what you got. Want to quell all the criticism that you only pile up the yardage against weak defenses once and for all? Then just do it against Karlos Dansby and the Tigers.
Penn State 21, Auburn 13

Jan. 1, 5 p.m. | ABC
at Pasadena, Calif.
Rose Bowl
No. 8 Oklahoma (11-2) vs. No. 7 Washington St. (10-2)
In most ways, it will be like any other Rose Bowl, as grand marshals Bill Cosby and Mister Rogers and Rose Queen Alexandra Wucetich stroll the sideline. Hopefully, they won't get run over by the Sooner Schooner.
Oklahoma 26, Washington State 21

Jan. 1, 8:30 p.m. | ABC
at New Orleans
Sugar Bowl
No. 16 Florida State (9-4) vs. No. 4 Georgia (12-1)

During their week in New Orleans, Bobby Bowden and Mark Richt will surely catch up, maybe go out for jambalaya. Along the way, plenty of friendly advice will be dished out -- by the pupil, to the mentor.
Georgia 27, Florida State 14

Jan. 2, 8 p.m. | ABC
at Miami
Orange Bowl
No. 5 USC (10-2) vs. No. 3 Iowa (11-1)

Just think, only a year ago, Carson Palmer was playing in the Las Vegas Bowl, Brad Banks was holding a clipboard at the Alamo Bowl and Steve Spurrier was coaching in the Orange Bowl.
USC 28, Iowa 20

Jan. 3, 8 p.m. | ABC
at Tempe, Ariz.
Fiesta Bowl
No. 2 Ohio State (13-0) vs. No. 1 Miami (12-0)

Two star running backs. Two top 10 pass-efficiency quarterbacks. Two top 20 defenses. A combined six All-Americas. But, yeah, you can see why this has all the makings of a blowout.
Check back Jan. 3
Last week: 7-1. Overall: 81-44.
