Sports Illustrated senior writer Ivan Maisel will track the Heisman race for CNNSI.com all season long.

Don't get excited, Iowa State fans. There are two months of season left. But on a weekend without many exciting games (at least outside of teams from Iowa), we should salute the Cyclones.

1. Seneca Wallace, Iowa State, Sr., QB

Last Week (vs. Nebraska): 19-of-32, 220 yards, TD, 2 INTs, 2 rushing TDs
Season (6 games): 109-of-170 (64 percent), 1,653 yards, 9 TDs, 6 INTs, 5 rushing TDs

Consider this a reward for beating Nebraska. If he and the Cyclones survive that stretch of road games that begins later this month (at Oklahoma, at Texas, at Kansas State, at Colorado in a five-game period), why shouldn't he win it?

2. Ken Dorsey, Miami, Sr., QB

Last Week: No game
Season (4 games): 57-of-114 (50 percent), 830 yards, 11 TDs, 4 INTs

Is support for 'Canes tailback Willis McGahee going to take votes away from Dorsey?

3. Maurice Clarett, Ohio State, Fr., TB

Last Week (vs. Indiana): 21 carries, 104 yards, 3 TDs
Season (4 games): 85 carries, 573 yards (143.3 ypg), 7 TDs

Workmanlike performance against Indiana. It's good to see his right knee could take the pounding.

4. Rex Grossman, Florida, Jr., QB

Last Week (vs. Kentucky): 28-of-43, 375 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs
Season (5 games): 101-of-181 (56 percent), 1,429 yards, 8 TDs, 6 INTs

Nice job holding on to beat Kentucky. Is there any chance he can punt block?

5. Byron Leftwich, Marshall, Sr., QB

Last Week: No game
Season (3 games): 86-of-139 (62 percent), 1,215 yards, 9 TDs, 3 INTs

Still the top pick among the NFL scouts that I speak with.
