Purdue 33, Oklahoma St. 20
Billy Dicken threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as Purdue ended a 17-year postseason drought with a 33-20 victory over Oklahoma State in the Alamo Bowl at San Antonio, Texas.

Look out for Cowboys free safety R.W. McQuarters, who could be next year's Charles Woodson. McQuarters had 38 tackles, one INT and two fumble recoveries, ranked second in the nation on punt returns (16.3 yards per punt) and dabbled on offense, running a 56-yard reverse on his only carry and catching eight passes for 245 yards and two touchdowns.

Purdue QB Billy Dicken threw for 19 TDs while running the Big Ten's top offense, with nine scores going to Brian Alford, who led the conference with 1,167 receiving yards. When that duo isn't moving upfield, RB Edwin Watson (886 yards, 11 TDs) probably is.

Purdue's run defense yields an alarming 179.5 yards a game, and Oklahoma State loves to run -- at least 47 rushes in every game this year. Cowboys QB Tony Lindsay has tossed 9 TD passes and run for nine more. Dicken doesn't need to throw the ball a lot -- he attempted 60 passes in a loss to Penn State -- and needs a game like he had against Wisconsin -- 16 of 22 for 311 yards and 3 TDs in a 45-20 win.

Want versatility? In addition to running and passing, Lindsay has a 50-yard catch from backup QB Joe Phears in a 51-50 overtime loss to Missouri.
