KINSTON, N.C. (AP) -- A freshman linebacker at Duke was in the Lenoir County Jail on Friday, accused of robbing a man in a wheelchair at gunpoint.

Kinston police said Gregory Wade of Kinston was arrested Thursday night shortly after a man and his female caretaker were robbed of cash, jewelry and other items at the city's Hampton Inn.

Lt. Frankie Howard said Ronnie Isler, 28, and his unidentified attendant were robbed at 7:13 p.m. by a man who held a handgun to Isler's head. Wade was arrested by police shortly after the robbery.

Wade was being held under $25,000 bond in the county jail.

Duke spokesman Mike Cragg said Wade, a scholarship player, was redshirted this past season. An outside linebacker, he is 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds.

Cragg said Duke would have an announcement about Wade's status after his arraignment.

Wade was a football standout at Kinston High School.
