Team of the Week

Boston College. Casual fans would be pressed to name one of their players now that Mike Cloud is gone, but following a 24-23 defeat of Syracuse, the Eagles have their first winning season in five years and will clinch a bowl bid with one more win.

Unsung Hero

Ben Kelly, CB, Colorado. Notched two interceptions that led to 10 points in the Buffs' impressive 38-24 defeat of Oklahoma.

Play of the Week

Miami QB Kenny Kelly who, for the go-ahead touchdown, rolled right, shook off the firm grasp of West Virginia's Antwan Lake, changed direction and heaved to a wide-open Clinton Portis on the opposite side of the field.

Hit of the Week

Florida State LB Tommy Polley's helmet-to-helmet shot on Virginia QB Dan Ellis, which, unfortunately, helped lead to Ellis' removal from the game.

Best coaching call

Duke quarterbacks coach Ben Bennett, who told starter Spencer Romine before the game he would throw three TDs and no interceptions, which Romine accomplished exactly by throwing a last-minute game-winner to upset Maryland 25-22.

Quote of the Week

"Some day I might look back like it was fun, but not now."
-- North Carolina's Dominique Williams, a running back pressed into action as an emergency quarterback during the Tar Heels' 28-3 embarrassment at the hands of I-AA Furman.
