STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma State backup quarterback B.J. Tiger was due in court Tuesday after being arrested for possession of marijuana.

A tip regarding stolen compact discs led university police to Tiger's dormitory room, where he allegedly was found with about three-quarters of a pound of marijuana, the OSU public information office said.

The office said a search of Tiger's room Monday afternoon turned up a collection of 150 CDs. While police were there, Tiger allegedly grabbed a lockbox and bolted from the room.

He was apprehended after a foot pursuit, the report said, and police found the marijuana in the lockbox.

Allegations about the stolen CDs remained under investigation, the public information office said.

Tiger started five games in 1999 in place of injured Tony Lindsay, throwing for 785 yards and six touchdowns and running for 259 yards and two TDs.

In 1998, Tiger pleaded guilty to stealing a pistol from a pawn shop. He also pleaded guilty to stealing about $110 in audio-video equipment from Wal-Mart in December 1997.

OSU coach Bob Simmons was out of town and not immediately available for comment.
