MOBILE, Ala. (AP) -- Oregon quarterback Joey Harrington has accepted an invitation to play in the Senior Bowl

The Heisman Trophy finalist will join quarterback Kurt Kittner of Illinois on the North roster for the Jan. 26 game, Senior Bowl officials said Thursday.

"Joey Harrington is a special football player," Senior Bowl President Steve Hale said. "He not only possesses the physical abilities to possibly be the first quarterback selected in this year's draft, but also the intangibles that have enabled him to lead his team to tremendous success on the field."

Harrington, the Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year, saved one of his best games for last. He threw for 350 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Ducks (11-1) to a 38-16 victory over Colorado on Tuesday night in the Fiesta Bowl.

The 6-foot-4, 222-pounder threw for 2,414 yards and 23 touchdowns as a senior, the second-highest single season total in school history. He was intercepted just five times.

Harrington finished fourth in the Heisman voting.
