Iowa Hawkeyes at Nebraska Cornhuskers
Week 5 Preview - Crouch is no Slouch

September 23, 2000
by: Sportvision

Nebraska again sits a top the polls and has a chance at the National Championship. Iowa, meanwhile, is struggling mightily for the second straight season. On paper, it appears the Hawkeyes are grossly undermanned, but at least they know what the Huskers are going to do - run, run, run. The key for Iowa is keeping it close. Last season, they kept it close for the first half, but Nebraska ran away late. Can the 'Eyes have it for just a little longer this time?

Coaching Points:

  • Iowa's defense has its hands full against Eric Crouch (7) and the high-powered Nebraska offense.
  • In the Huskers' lead option, guard Russ Hochstein (55) pulls out and blocks the end.
  • Safety Ryan Hansen (14) and LB LeVar Woods (97) have to be careful not to overrun Crouch.
