Oregon State earned its trip by beating hated rival Oregon on the last game of the season. Notre Dame survived a brutal September schedule and ride a seven-game win streak into the Arizona desert. Beaver RB Ken Simonton hopes to make an early statement on the 2001 Heisman race with a big night. Notre Dame must key on Simonton and make QB Jonathan Smith beat them through the air.
