Tennessee Volunteers vs Kansas State Wildcats
Cotton Bowl - A Very Special Player
January 01, 2001
The Cotton Bowl landed a very good matchup between Kansas State and Tennessee. The Vols are winners of six straight, while the Wildcats are a three-point loss to Oklahoma away from the BCS. Both squads have their share of big-play performers: Quincy Morgan and Jonathan Beasley for the 'Cats; Travis Henry and John Henderson for the Vols. The difference in the game could be on the punt units. K-State has one of the most electrifying players in the country in Aaron Lockett, who has returned three punts for TDs this year. If Tennessee punter David Leaverton kicks it to him, watch out.
- Lockett (22) took over early in the season for another special return man for K-State, David Allen. The Wildcats didn't skip a beat.
- They key for the Wildcats is to man block the outside men for the Vols and let Lockett pick his seam in the middle.
