EUGENE, Oregon (Ticker) -- Oregon's rise to national prominence has included a revelation that Autzen Stadium is among the most intimidating venues in college football. The eighth-ranked Ducks have won 14 straight non-conference home games entering Saturday's contest against Utah, which happens to be the last non-Pac-10 Conference visitor to win at the cozy facility. Utah won a 34-16 contest at Oregon in 1994, the year before Mike Bellotti took over as coach. Oregon has won 21 straight home games overall, a streak that almost was ended before the Ducks rallied for a 31-28 triumph over Wisconsin on Labor Day weekend. Joey Harrington threw for two touchdowns and ran for the winning score in an emotional, hard-hitting game that left the Heisman Trophy candidate feeling some pain. "It's a good sore. It's a hard-work sore. It's a 'We got something accomplished sore,'" Harrington said in his diary to an Oregon newspaper. Oregon struggled on the ground last week with Maurice Morris gaining just 18 yards on 15 carries. Utah (1-0) received big games from a pair of junior college transfers in a 23-19 win over Utah State last week. Safety Antwoine Sanders had a pair of interceptions and Marty Johnson ran for 95 yards and a score. The Utes are beginning their first three-game road trip since 1996. Games at Air Force and Indiana follow. The Ducks lead the all-time series, 16-7, and this is the first meeting since a 31-13 Oregon win in 1997.
