STARKVILLE, Mississippi (Ticker) -- Dontae Walker rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown on just eight carries and Scott Westerfield kicked three field goals as Mississippi State posted a 29-11 non-conference victory over Oklahoma State. After Westerfield booted field goals of 41 and 20 yards to give Mississippi State (3-0) an early 6-0 lead, the Bulldogs took control with two touchdowns in a 76-second span bridging the first and second quarters. Mississippi State took a 12-0 lead on Matt Wyatt's 12-yard touchdown pass to Kelvin Love with 38 seconds left in the opening period and cashed in a turnover to score again just 38 seconds into the second quarter. Safety Ashley Cooper recovered Ben Bowling's fumble at the Oklahoma State 46 and Walker reached the end zone on the first play of the ensuing possession, giving the Bulldogs a 19-0 cushion. The Cowboys (2-1) got on the board on Tim Snyder's 22-yard field goal with 13 seconds left in the first half and closed to 22-11 on Cortney Mallory's 46-yard interception return for a touchdown early in the final period. But Mississippi State put the contest away on Wayne Madkin's 52-yard TD pass to Justin Griffin with 6:58 to play. Madkin completed just 5-of-18 passes for 118 yards, overcoming four interceptions. Oklahoma State could not take advantage of the turnovers and was outgained by a 363-176 margin. Bowling completed 9-of-16 for just 44 yards for the Cowboys before being benched in favor of B.J. Tiger, who was 6-of-11 for 51 yards. Jamaal Fobbs led Oklahoma State on the ground, gaining only 38 yards on 10 carries. The Cowboys played their straight game without starting quarterback Tony Lindsay, who is sidelined with a knee injury.
