LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (Ticker) -- Josh Heupel set a school record with 429 passing and matched another with five touchdown passes as Oklahoma remained unbeaten by scoring the final 28 points in a 42-21 triumph over Louisville.

Heupel completed 29-of-42 passes and continues to rewrite the Sooners' record book. For the third straight week, he set a new passing standard, surpassing the yardage he established last week against Baylor.

His five TD passes matched what he threw in a season-opening win over Indiana State. Through just three games, his 13 passing touchdowns rank tied for second on the school's single-season list.

Eight different receivers caught passes, with Damien Mackey and Jarrail Jackson hauling in two touchdowns apiece. Michael Thornton led the ground attack with 17 carries for 94 yards.

Chris Redman was 24-of-49 for 292 yards and two interceptions for Louisville (2-2). Frank Moreau chipped in with 94 yards on 21 carries while Lavell Boyd had 120 yards receiving on six catches.

The Cardinals led 13-7 at the half and maintained a 21-14 edge with just over six minutes left in the third quarter. Heupel ignited the comeback with a pair of touchdown passes to Mackey five minutes apart bridging the third and fourth quarters.
