COLUMBIA, South Carolina (Ticker) -- Dusty Bonner threw for 263 yards and a touchdown and Kentucky's defense forced four turnovers in a 30-10 Southeastern Conference victory over South Carolina, its biggest road win in 20 years. The Wildcats (4-2, 2-1 SEC East) broke open a tight game with a 17-point second quarter. Marc Samuel snapped a 3-3 tie with a 33-yard field goal 3:43 into the period. Free safety Anthony Wajda raced five yards with a fumble 24 seconds later to extend the lead to 13-3. Bonner, who added a rushing touchdown late in the third quarter, hooked up with Brad Pyatt on a 27-yard scoring pass. Bonner fared well without starting wide receiver Dougie Allen, who is out the rest of the season with a torn PCL in his knee. Tight end Justin Whalen stepped up with nine receptions for 119 yards, recording his third 100-yard game of the season. Bonner completed 23-of-35 passes and has thrown for at least 250 yards in every game this season. It was Kentucky's biggest road win since a 31-3 pounding of Florida on November 17, 1979. The Wildcats are two wins shy of becoming eligible for a bowl berth. Kentucky's victory over I-AA school Connecticut can count toward the six needed for a bowl berth. The Wildcats lead the all-time series, 6-4-1. The 10 points matched a season high for South Carolina's punchless offense. First-year coach Lou Holtz has seen his team score just 32 points. The Gamecocks (0-6, 0-4) have the nation's longest current losing streak at 16 games since a 38-20 victory over Ball State to start the 1998 season. Mikal Goodman completed 6-of-13 passes for 181 yards, including a 78-yard touchdown pass to Kerry Hood in the fourth quarter. South Carolina was held to 55 yards rushing and 233 overall.
