PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- Backup Devin Scott completed 17-of-24 passes for 169 yards and two touchdowns as Temple rallied for its first win of the season, 24-14 over Boston College.

Scott relieved starter Mac Devito with the Owls trailing 14-7 at the start of the second half and immediately drove the Owls 51 yards on six plays. He threw a nine-yard strike to Carlos Johnson that tied the game.

Scott, who started the last five games as a true freshman last season, threw his second TD pass just over five minutes later when he found Jason McKie from four yards away, giving Temple (1-5, 1-1 Big East) a lead it would not reliquish.

Cap Poklema kicked a 31-yard field goal with just under 10 minutes remaining to cap the scoring.

The Owls, who were drubbed 31-7 by the Eagles last season, won for only the third time in the last 12 games against their conference foe. Boston College fell from the unbeaten ranks.

Devito completed 13-of-24 passes for 104 yards and two interceptions.

The Eagles' special teams helped get them on the board on the game's opening drive when Jonathan Ordway blocked George Radu's punt, which was returned by Ralph Parent to the 6. Three plays later, William Green scored from two yards out to give Boston College (4-1, 1-1) a 7-0 lead.

The Eagles took a two-touchdown lead five seconds into the second quarter when Tim Hasselbeck hit Ryan Burch with a three-yard TD pass. Hasselback was 14-of-23 for 153 yards and one interception.

Temple got on the board with two seconds remaining in the first half on Marcus Godfrey's one-yard run that capped a 13-play, 78-yard drive.
