MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Chris Redman capped another stellar offensive performance with an 18-yard touchdown pass to Lavell Boyd with six seconds remaining, lifting Louisville to a thrilling 32-31 victory over Conference USA rival Memphis.

Redman, who leads the nation's highest scoring offense, broke the 300-yard mark for the 21st time in his prolific career. He completed 33-of-47 passes for 385 yards and four touchdowns.

Redman helped Louisville take a commanding 19-0 first-quarter lead with two short TD passes, but was called upon to pull the contest out in the waning moments after the Cardinals (4-3, 1-1) squandered their advantage.

With his team trailing 31-19 with 5:37 to play, Redman took over. He found fellow senior Arnold Jackson on a 38-yard scoring strike with 4:24 left that closed the gap to 31-26 before marching the Cardinals down for the winning TD.

Ibn Green was Redman's favorite target, collecting 13 catches for 166 yards. He caught TD passes of one and two yards in the first quarter. Jackson had eight catches for 108 yards.

Frank Moreau rushed for 94 yards on 21 carries and scored on a one-yard jaunt in the opening quarter for Louisville, which had lost three of its previous four games, including last week's 59-52 double-overtime heartbreaker to Army.

Gerald Arnold rushed for 144 yards on 27 carries for Memphis. He got the Tigers (2-5, 1-1) on the board with a two-yard scoring scamper just under two minutes into the second quarter.

Corey Irby's 84-yard fumble return with 5:51 remaining in the third quarter pulled the Tigers within 19-17. Travis Anglin and Teofilo Riley each had short TD runs in the fourth quarter to give Memphis a 31-19 cushion.

The all-time series is deadlocked at 18 wins apiece.
