MANHATTAN, Kansas (Ticker) -- Jonathan Beasley completed 10-of-16 passes for 118 yards and a touchdown and also ran for a score as No. 6 Kansas State remained undefeated with a 48-7 romp of Baylor in a Big 12 Conference mismatch.

The Wildcats improved to 8-0 overall and at 5-0 in the Big 12 North remained on top of the division, which they can clinch with wins over Colorado and Nebraska in the next two games.

Kansas State lost to Texas A&M in the Big 12 championship game last season and thus blew a chance to play for the national title.

Beasley opened the scoring midway through the first quarter when he scored on a one-yard touchdown plunge and capped off a 20-point second quarter with a 14-yard scoring strike to running back David Allen. Allen also scored on runs of three and four yards in the second quarter and had 87 yards on five punt returns.

The Wildcats collected 402 yards of total offense, including 225 on the ground. Joe Hall, a 290-pound running back, rushed for 109 yards on 23 carries and Beasley had 58 on 12.

After Beasley's scoring run, Hall finished off Kansas State's second drive with an 11-yard TD burst on an option right to make it 14-0 with 1:49 left in the first quarter.

On those first two drives, which spanned 71 and 49 yards, respectively, he carried 15 times for 70 yards, thwarting Baylor's strategy to kick off and make the Wildcats drive into a gusty 15-20 mile-per-hour wind.

Hall had 79 of Kansas State's 136 total first-quarter yards and watched the defense limit Baylor to nine yards, no first downs and two minutes of possession time.

Allen's three-yard scoring run boosted the lead to 21-0 with 8:32 left in the second quarter and capped a 13-play, 72-yard drive. Beasley connected with Aaron Lockett to set up the touchdown.

Jamie Rheem kicked a pair of 37-yard field goals in a 3:25 span shortly thereafter. The second gave him a school-record 13 straight without a miss, breaking Martin Gramatica's record.

The first field goal was set up when linebacker Ben Leber knocked the ball loose from Baylor freshman Chedrick Ricks and defensive end Chris Johnson recovered at the Bears 24. The second came after a 14-yard punt by Kyle Atteberry.

The Bears finally got their initial first down of the game on the next possession when Darrell Bush, who gained 70 yards, ran 23 yards to the Baylor 43. But Jermaine Alfred was sacked by defensive back Milton Proctor to snuff the threat.

Allen returned a 48-yard punt by Atteberry 50 yards to the Baylor 28 and, three plays later, caught a 14-yard scoring pass from Beasley to make it 34-0 with 21 seconds left in the half.

The Wildcats had a 267-29 advantage in total offense, a 17-1 edge in first downs and a 16-minute cushion in time of possession in the first half.

Allen ran four yards for a touchdown that pushed the lead to 41-0 just 2:44 into the third quarter, capitalizing after Terrence Newman returned the second-half kickoff 73 yards to the 26.

Baylor (1-7, 0-5 South), which posted 119 yards of total offense, scored its lone touchdown with just over 10 minutes left in the game on Darrell Bush's four-yard TD run. It was the first second-half touchdown allowed by Kansas State this season.

The Bears could not form a passing attack. Alfred was 3-of-14 for 17 yards and an interception while backup Odell James misfired on both his attempts and was sacked three times.

Baylor's regular backup, Michael Odum, was suspended indefinitely for violating team rules.

Kansas State, which got a 13-yard touchdown run from Chris Clayborn in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring, has won all three meetings with Baylor.
