NEW HAVEN, Connecticut (Ticker) -- Yale extended its winning streak to six games for the first time in 10 years and snapped a seven-game skid to Ivy League foe Pennsylvania with a 23-18 victory. Quarterback Joe Walland ran for a decisive 29-yard touchdown with 6:41 left for Yale (6-1, 3-1 Ivy), which is 6-0 since a season-opening 25-24 home loss to Brown. Walland picked up only 24 yards on the ground, but threw for 229 yards and a score as the Bulldogs improved to 3-7 this decade against Pennsylvania (3-4, 2-2). Eric Johnson caught a five-yard TD pass from Walland 1:50 before halftime as Yale went ahead for the first time, 13-10. Walland then helped counter three second-half field goals by Jason Feinberg with his 29-yard run. Feinberg kicked four field goals, but Yale's Mike Murawczyk had three, including a key 43-yarder early in the third quarter to tie it at 16-16. A 22-yarder by Feinberg with 8:41 to play gave the Quakers their last lead. Penn's Gavin Hoffman completed 8-of-14 passes for 120 yards and a touchdown, a four-yarder to Ben Zagorski to open the scoring in the first quarter. Walland was 19-of-30 with an interception and running back James Keppel had eight receptions for 133 yards as the Bulldogs had 305 yards of total offense to 177 for Penn.
