ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico (Ticker) -- Bart Hendricks accounted for 266 yards of total offense and two touchdowns as Boise State spoiled New Mexico's homer opener with a 31-14 victory. Hendricks rushed for 98 yards on 19 carries, including a 34-yard touchdown run that opened the scoring with 9:07 left in the first quarter. He also tossed a nine-yard TD pass to Andre Banks in the second period and completed 17-of-34 for 168 yards. Boise State (1-0), the preason favorite in the Big West Conference, built a 24-0 lead midway through the second quarter and never looked back. New Mexico dropped to 0-2, suffering a 24-3 loss to Texas Tech last week. After safety Shaun Harts' 34-yard interception return for a touchdown made it 24-0, New Mexico got on the board on Jarrod Baxter's 32-yard TD run with 1:19 to play in the second quarter. But Nick Calaycay booted a 42-yard field goal with five seconds left in the period to give the Broncos a 31-7 halftime lead. New Mexico's Holmon Wiggins completed the scoring with a one-yard TD run late in the final period. Baxter rushed for 99 yards on 15 carries, but New Mexico quarterbacks Jeremy Denson and Rudy Caamano were just a combined 12-of-26 for 122 yards and two interceptions.
