FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas (Ticker) -- Cedric Cobbs scored on a one-yard run with 18 seconds remaining as Arkansas overcame an awful offensive display to rally for an improbable 14-10 victory over Nevada Las-Vegas.

Cobbs, who suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in the third game last year, capped an 11-play, 49-yard drive as the Razorbacks took advantage of a botched punt to avenge a 31-14 loss to UNLV in last season's Las Vegas Bowl.

Arkansas used four quarterbacks, committed four turnovers and had just two first downs -- one on defensive holding -- before the winning drive.

UNLV coach John Robinson may have outsmarted himself. Instead of using regular punter Gary Cook, he brought in Ryan McDonald to attempt a pooch punt.

But McDonald, who had not played the entire game, let the snap slip through his hands, giving Arkansas a first down at the UNLV 49 with 1:48 remaining.

Ryan Sorahan completed two fourth-down passes on the winning drive, then connected with Richard Smith for a 23-yard gain and a 1st-and-goal at the 1. With no timeouts remaining, Cobbs scored on a sweep around right end on the next play.

UNLV had numerous opportunities to put away the game but Dillon Piefer missed two field goals in the second half. Midway through the fourth quarter, quarterback Jason Thomas was stopped for no gain on 4th-and-inches from the Arkansas 20.

Piefer kicked a 27-yard field goal with 6:13 left in the first quarter and Thomas tossed a six-yard TD pass to Jabari Johnson two minutes into the second period to give the Rebels a 10-0 lead.

But Arkansas' defense helped turned around the game as cornerback Lawrence Richardson returned an interception 45 yards for a score to pull the Razorbacks within 10-7 three minutes into the second half.

Arkansas finished with just 114 yards, nearly half of it on the final drive.

The Rebels gained 298 yards, but Thomas completed just 4-of-16 for 40 yards and was picked off three times.
