TULSA, Oklahoma (Ticker) -- Eric Richardson ran for three touchdowns and Josh Blankenship threw for 337 yards and a pair of scores as Tulsa posted its biggest win in 15 years with a 51-0 thrashing of Indiana State. Richardson had a three-yard run to open the scoring with 7:05 left in the opening quarter. He added a pair of one-yard TDs as Tulsa (1-0) built a 21-0 lead just 3:07 into the second quarter. After an interception by cornerback Keithan McCorry, Blankenship hooked up with Brandon Birks for a 45-yard touchown pass just 50 seconds later. Blankenship completed 29-of-35 passes as the Golden Hurricane matched their largest margin of victory since beating Tennessee Tech by the same score on September 6, 1986. Blankenship found tight end Jarrod Roach for a 10-yard TD with 6:35 left in the first half to make it 34-0. Tulsa continued to dominate throughout the third quarter, holding the ball for 12:53 and pushing the margin to 37-0 with 34 seconds to go. Freshman Tyler Gooch replaced Blankenship in the fourth quarter and was 4-of-5 for 42 yards. Gooch threw a 16-yard scoring pass to fellow freshman and high school teammate Caleb Blankenship -- Josh's younger brother -- with 7:20 to play. Redshirt freshman quarterback James Kilian had a six-yard run with 72 seconds left. Indiana State (0-1) was held to 69 yards on 45 plays. Jamie Dishroom was just 1-of-9 for eight yards and an interception as the Sycamores suffered their worst loss since a 66-0 defeat at Kansas State in their 1998 season opener.
