LEXINGTON, Kentucky (Ticker) -- Dave Ragone passed for 368 yards and three touchdowns as Louisville spoiled Guy Morriss' coaching debut with a 36-10 rout of Kentucky.

Coming off what he called his "worst game," Ragone completed 21-of-34 passes, including a pair of 11-yard TD strikes to Ronnie Ghent in the econd half.

The lefthander completed 18-of-31 passes for 272 yards and three touchdowns and an interception in last week's season-opening 45-24 win over New Mexico State, yet was disappointed with his performance.

He quickly made amends Saturday, connecting with Zek Parker for an 82-yard touchdown pass just 49 seconds into the game.

Ragone led Louisville to its first nine-win season since 1990 last year.

Morriss replaced Hal Mumme, who was fired in the wake of an NCAA investigation into alleged rules violation.

Kentucky (0-1) played Louisville close in the first half. The Wildcats tied the contest on Derek Abney's 47-yard punt return with 1:16 remaining in the first quarter before Nathan Smith kicked a 36-yard field goal four minutes into the second period to give the Cardinals a 10-7 halftime lead.

Kentucky pulled even again on Seth Hanson's 36-yard field goal five minutes into the third quarter, but the potent Cardinals eventually wore down the Wildcats with 26 unanswered points.

Ragone's TD passes to Ghent gave Louisville a 22-10 lead before T.J. Patterson added TD runs of 11 and six yards in the final 9 1/2 minutes.

Parker grabbed six passes for 184 yards, while Patterson paced Louisville (2-0) on the ground with 72 yards on 17 carries.

Jared Lorenzen, Kentucky's 275-pound quarterback, completed just 12-of-31 for 121 yards with an interception. Kentucky rushed for only 29 yards on 28 attempts.

Louisville cut Kentucky's lead in the all-time series to 9-5. The Cardinals have won five of eight meetings since the series was resumed in 1994.
