RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Philip Rivers threw for 243 yards and three touchdowns as North Carolina State opened a big lead and cruised to a 35-14 victory over Indiana. Rivers completed 22-of-33 passes and began the rout when he connected with Willie Wright for a 19-yard touchdown pass with 3:29 left in the first quarter. Wide receiver Troy Graham recovered a blocked punt for a touchdown just 45 seconds into the second quarter and Austin Herbert added a 27-yard field goal with 8:37 left for a 15-0 lead. Ray Robinson had a five-yard touchdown run with three minutes left in the second quarter before Rivers threw a 55-yard touchdown pass to Bryan Peterson in the third to give North Carolina State (1-0) a 28-0 lead. Rivers threw his final touchdown with 12:03 reamining, a 15-yard pass to Wright, who had five catches for 63 yards. Peterson piled up 115 receiving yards on six catches and Robinson had 19 carries for 77 yards. Tommy Jones completed 18-of-31 passes for 163 yards for Indiana (0-1.
