WACO, Texas (Ticker) -- Daniel Andino's 29-yard field goal gave Baylor its first overtime victory with a 16-13 triumph over New Mexico. The Lobos lost the coin toss and took possession first, but Jarrod Baxter fumbled on 4th-and-goal from the 2. Knowing that it only needed a field goal, Baylor moved to the New Mexico 12 and Andino's boot gave the Bears (2-0) victories in their first two games for the first time since a 3-0 start in 1996. Vladimir Borombozin's 21-yard field goal tied the game for New Mexico, 13-13, with 1:40 left in the fourth quarter. Baylor had used Greg Cicero's 4-yard touchdown pass to Marques Roberts and Adam Stiles' 47-yard field goal to take a 13-10 lead with 3:29 to go. New Mexico (1-2) grabbed a 7-3 halftime lead on Rudy Caamano's 64-yard TD strike to Joe Manning. Cicero completed 25-of-45 passes for 223 yards, but was intercepted twice. Baxter rushed for just 44 yards on 17 carries after rushing for 290 yards in the Lobos' first two games. Baylor improved to 11-3 all-time against current members of the Mountain West Conference.
