BOULDER, Colorado (Ticker) -- Craig Ochs tossed a 17-yard touchdown pass to Daniel Graham with 11:04 remaining as Colorado rallied for a 27-16 victory over Kansas in the Big 12 Conference opener for both teams. Ochs, who was 12-of-23 for 186 yards and an interception, converted a pair of 3rd-and-9s on the winning drive as the Buffaloes marched 86 yards in 11 plays. Ochs found tight end Daniel Graham for 11 yards and a first down at the Kansas 18, then connected again with Graham three plays later for the touchdown. The Jayhawks went three-and-out on the ensuing possession and Colorado (3-1, 1-0 Big 12 North) needed only one play to add an insurance score on Chris Brown's 40-yard TD run with 9:08 to go. Colorado wore down Kansas with a bruising ground game, rushing for 338 yards on 48 carries. The Buffaloes had a pair of 100-yard runners as Brown gained 140 yards on 22 carries and Cortle Johnson added 113 yards on just eight attempts. Kansas (1-2, 0-1) took a 13-10 halftime lead in the see-saw affair on Mario Kinsey's 38-yard TD pass to Roger Ross and a pair of field goals by Johnny Beck. Colorado tied it on Jeremy Flores' 27-yard field goal with 7:54 remaining in the third quarter before Beck put the Jayhawks back ahead with a 46-yard field goal 10 seconds into the final period. Kinsey completed 12-of-25 for 162 yards for the Jayhawks but was sacked four times. Kansas rushed for 113 yards, led by Reggie Duncan, who gained 70 yards on 22 carries. Colorado increased its lead in the all-time series to 37-21-3. The Buffaloes have won 15 of the last 19 meetings.
