NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) -- Alex Haynes rushed for 148 yards and tied a school record with four touchdowns as Central Florida posted a 36-29 victory over winless Tulane.

Haynes ran roughshod over the porous Green Wave defense, scoring on TD runs of three, five, 13 and 23 yards. The 5-11 freshman carried 25 times.

Haynes' 23-yard touchdown run with 2:20 left in the fourth quarter snapped a 29-29 tie as the Golden Knights (1-2) won for the first time in three games.

Ryan Schneider, playing with a shoulder injury, completed 20-of-29 passes for 338 yards with a touchdown and interception for Central Florida.

Tulane quarterback Patrick Ramsey enjoyed a big day, completing 30-of-47 for 280 yards and two touchdowns. His five-yard TD toss to Mewelde Moore with 5:04 remaining in the fourth quarter lifted the Green Wave into a 29-29 tie.

Moore did most of his damage on the ground, carrying 22 times for 134 yards.

But Tulane (0-4) continues to be ineffective on defense, surrendering a whopping 169 points in its four games.
