WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Bruce Perry dominated from the outset. Perry rushed for a 276 yards, including a pair of long touchdown runs as Maryland remained unbeaten with a 27-20 victory over Wake Forest in an Atlantic Coast Conference game. On the game's first play from scrimmage, Perry busted free for an 80-yard touchdown run. The sophomore ran 50 yards for a score with 8:38 remaining in the fourth quarter, giving Maryland a 27-13 lead. Perry was a workhorse all afternoon as he carried 30 times. Marc Riley carried 12 times for 25 yards, including a one-yard score in the second quarter as Terrapins rolled up 297 of their 519 yards on the ground. Shaun Hill completed 16-of-23 passes for 222 yards with two interceptions for the Terrapins (3-0, 2-0 ACC), who have yet to lose under new coach Ralph Friedgen Tarence Williams gained 100 yards on 23 carries, including an 11-yard touchdown run in the third quarter for Wake Forest (2-1, 0-1 ACC). James MacPherson of Wake Forest went 16-of-29 for 214 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
