TEMPE, Arizona (Ticker) -- Jeff Krohn threw for 229 yards and four touchdowns and Ryan Dennard scored four times as Arizona State rolled to a 53-15 rout of winless San Jose State. Krohn hit Dennard with a pair of short touchdown tosses in the first half as Arizona State (2-1) opened a 17-9 halftime lead. The Sun Devils began the second-half scoring when Krohn and Dennard hooked up again for a 22-yard TD. Dennard later returned a fumble 38 yards for a score and a 39-15 advantage with 5:33 left in the third quarter. Krohn added a 50-yard touchdown pass to Shaun McDonald and scored on a five-yard run in the third quarter. Delvon Flowers, who rushed for 159 yards on 21 carries, scored his first TD of the season from four yards out to cap an 81-yard drive. The Sun Devils outgained the Spartans on the ground, 224 yards to 63, and forced five fumbles, recovering three. San Jose State (0-3) was led by Marcus Arroyo, who completed 23-of-38 passes for 262 yards and a touchdown. Edell Shepherd had 10 receptions for 124 yards and a TD. Arizona State has outscored its opponents, 91-22, in a pair of home games.
