ATHENS, Georgia (Ticker) -- David Greene fell two yards short of his first 300-yard passing game as Georgia posted a 34-23 Southeastern Conference victory over Arkansas. Greene completed 20-of-37 passes for 298 yards, surpassing his previous high of 285 yards in the season opener against Arkansas State. The redshirt freshman threw touchdown passes of seven yards to Terrence Edwards in the second quarter and four yards to Randy McMichael midway through the final period. Playing its first game since September 8, Georgia (2-1, 1-1 SEC East) snapped a 20-20 tie on Musa Smith's two-yard TD run with 7:30 remaining in the third period. Smith rushed for 95 yards on nine carries. Arkansas (1-3, 0-3 West) closed to 27-23 on Brennan O'Donohoe's 31-yard field goal with 11:11 remaining in the fourth quarter. But Greene capped a six-play, 53-yard drive with his TD toss to McMichael just under three minutes later. Zak Clark completed 17-of-32 for 212 yards and an interception for the Razorbacks, who have dropped three straight since a season-opening win over Nevada-Las Vegas. Arkansas rushed for only 85 yards. Brandon Holmes ran for 44 yards on 21 carries, including a seven-yard TD in the first quarter. Despite their struggles on the ground, the Razorbacks only trailed, 20-13, at the half and tied the contest on Marvin Jackson's 74-yard punt return 5 1/2 minutes into the third period. Georgia increased its lead in the all-time series to 5-3.
