EL PASO, Texas (Ticker) -- Sherman Austin rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown as Texas-El Paso posted its first home win over Tulsa with a 26-10 Western Athletic Conference victory.

Austin's 19-yard touchdown run gave the Miners a 14-0 lead after Chris Porter's 22-yard TD run opened the scoring.

After Tulsa used a 37-yard TD strike from Josh Blankenship to Donald Shoals and a 41-yard field goal from Chris Earnest to pull within four points, Wesley Phillips scored on a three-yard keeper for a 20-10 lead at intermission.

Texas-El Paso (2-2, 1-1 WAC) improved to 1-4 all-time at home against the Golden Hurricane.

Keith Robinson added field goals of 27 and 22 yards in the second half for the Miners.

Austin fell two yards shy of his career-high, set in last season's 40-7 victory at Tulsa.

Rovann Cleveland added 73 yards on 13 carries for Texas-El Paso, which finished with 208 yards on the ground.

Tulsa (1-2, 0-2), which opened WAC play with a 37-18 loss to 13th-ranked Fresno State last week, managed just 11 first downs and 100 yards rushing on 27 carries.

The Miners held a huge edge in possession -- 37:48 to 22:12 -- and ougained the Golden Hurricane, 457-318.
