TUCSON, Arizona (Ticker) -- Joey Harrington accounted for six touchdowns to lead eighth-ranked Oregon to a 63-28 Pacific-10 Conference rout of Arizona.

Harrington completed 15-of-24 passes for 279 yards and three touchdowns and ran for three scores as Oregon (5-0, 2-0 Pac-10) defeated Arizona for the seventh time in the last eight meetings.

"I love Joey. He does everything a guy needs to do to help us win," Oregon coach Mike Bellotti said. "I'm pleased with where we're at. At 5-0 you can't be any better than that, but we do need to keep improving."

The 63 points were the most allowed by Arizona since joining the Pac-10 in 1978.

Onterrio Smith rushed 15 times for 131 yards and Maurice Morris added 110 yards on 21 carries as Oregon posted its highest total since a 63-28 triumph over Stanford on September 26, 1998.

Oregon opened the scoring with 6:47 remaining in the first quarter on a two-yard pass from Harrington to tight end George Wrighster. The Ducks doubled the lead with 2:57 left in the period on Harrington's one-yard keeper, capping a 17-yard drive that was set up by cornerback Gary McGraw's recovery of a fumbled punt return by Gary Love.

"We executed our game plan very well," Harrington said. "Arizona is always tough, but we knew what to expect. Our receivers did a great job. People have been talking about us. They have said negative things and we want to make a point and put points up."

Jason Johnson hooked up with Brandon Marshall on a 44-yard score to pull Arizona (3-2, 0-2) within 14-7 with 81 seconds left in the first quarter. Clarence Farmer rushed 15 times for 158 yards for the Wildcats, who have been torched for 111 points in losing their two in a row since a 3-0 start.

"It was a hard battle. Oregon had a (darn) good defense," Farmer said. "It's frustrating to see a team get up on us by 14 points so quickly that we had to come right back. They just whipped us, pure and simple."

Johnson found Anthony Fulcher for an eight-yard TD to even the score 77 seconds into the second quarter. But the Ducks went ahead for good when Harrington had a two-yard scamper with 11:39 left in the second.

"When you play two great teams like that back-to-back, it's a gut-check," Johnson said. "You can't make mistakes against teams like that. I don't think we knew what we were in for. It's now the turning point of our season. We have to bounce back right now."

Arizona's Sean Keel barely missed a 50-yard field goal with 8:45 left before halftime and Oregon capitalized as Harrington found Samie Parker streaking down the left sideline for a 38-yard touchdown, stretching the lead to 28-14.

The Ducks marched 77 yards in 2:36 and pushed the bulge to 35-14 as tight end Justin Peelle slipped behind the defense for a 17-yard reception 81 seconds before the break.

Oregon scored on its first possession of the second half when Morris capped a 57-yard drive with a one-yard plunge that made it 42-14.

Linebacker Wesly Mallard intercepted Cliff Watkins' pass and returned it to the Arizona 23, setting up Smith's one-yard for a 35-point cushion.

Harrington scored from two yards out for a 56-14 lead 20 seconds before the end of the third quarter. Smith made it 63-14 with a five-yard TD with 12:57 to go.

Freshman John Rattay, the younger brother of San Francisco 49ers backup quarterback Tim Rattay, found Malosi Leonard for a 25-yard score with 9:37 remaining and Tremaine Cox ran in from 26 yards five minutes later as Arizona got its final two TDs with both teams playing substitutes.
