FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas (Ticker) -- Lawrence Richardson returned the opening kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown and Arkansas never looked back, coasting to a 42-19 victory over Division 1-AA Weber State. The Razorbacks (2-3) methodically wore down the Wildcats (1-4), rushing for 322 yards on 44 carries. Four different players rushed for touchdowns for Arkansas, led by Fred Talley, who ran for 135 yards on 17 carries. The Razorbacks did almost all their damage on the ground as Zak Clark completed just 7-of-15 for 100 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Brandon Holmes scored on a one-yard run in the first quarter before Clark and George Wilson combined for a 33-yard touchdown on the final play of the first half to give Arkansas a 21-0 lead. The Razorbacks stretched their cushion to 35-0 on Fred Talley's 35-yard TD run four minutes into the third quarter. Tyler Gladwell completed 20-of-36 for 244 yards and two touchdowns for Weber State. Johnnie Gray rushed for 128 yards on 29 carries for the Wildcats. Arkansas added Weber State after its September 15 game against North Texas was postponed and later canceled in the wake of the terrorist attacks.
