LUBBOCK, Texas (Ticker) -- Johnny Beck kicked a 37-yard field goal in the second overtime to give Kansas its first victory over Big 12 Conference rival Texas Tech, 34-31. Beck's kick came after Kansas linebacker Marcus Rogers intercepted a pass by B.J. Symons at the 13-yard line. It gave Kansas (2-2, 1-1 Big 12) its first victory since a season-opening 24-10 triumph over Southwest Missouri State. Beck also kicked three field goals in regulation as the Jayhawks won for the first time in eight meetings with Texas Tech (2-2, 0-1). Kansas pulled within 24-16 on Beck's 42-yarder with 4:11 to play in the third quarter. Mario Kinsey threw a five-yard touchdown toss to Tremaine Fulton with 21 seconds remaining in the period and Reggie Duncan ran for the conversion to tie it. Duncan rushed 38 times for a career-high 227 yards. Kinsey added 50 yards on 16 carries, including a 23-yard TD that gave the Jayhawks a 31-24 advantage in the first overtime. Symons scampered into the end zone from nine yards out to tie it for the Red Raiders. Texas Tech's Kliff Kingsbury completed 23-of-37 passes for 242 yards and three touchdowns. He gave the Red Raiders a 24-14 lead with a 23-yard TD pass to running back Ricky Williams with 3:26 left in the third quarter. Williams carried 15 times for 71 yards.
